The Gyalsung Headquarters is pleased to announce the launch of the Gyalsup for Gyalsung (GFG) program today, coinciding with the 9th Birth Anniversary of His Royal Highness Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck across five Gyalsung Academies.
This program marks a significant milestone in the Gyalsung journey with the launch of the inaugural National Service Duty, engaging 352 Gyalsups from the 2024 Batch. The GFG program is designed to enhance the capabilities of the Gyalsups by providing skilling opportunities in the field of construction. The program providing theoretical classes, practical sessions and on-the-job skilling at the Gyalsung Academy sites will be overseen by experienced industry professionals from Bhutan and abroad. The GFG program will focus on providing skills in masonry, tiling, painting, welding, plumbing, electrical, woodworks etc., amongst others.,
The GFG program builds on the remarkable success of the Desuung for Gyalsung (DFG) program. Since April 2022, Gyalsung Infra has trained and engaged 6761 De-suups at the five Gyalsung Academy sites in all aspects of construction including specialization in the construction and maintenance of sports facilities such as artificial turfs and synthetic tracks. As the DFG trainings are aligned to national competency standards, De-suups from the program continue to participate in the periodic assessments conducted by Bhutan Qualification and Certification Authority (BQPCA) and have been successfully employed by public organizations and private companies.
This program is a testament to His Majesty’s visionary leadership, which seeks to build capabilities of Bhutanese youth to actively participate in Nation-building while equipping them with employable skills for the future.
The event was attended by the Secretary of Gyalsung at Gyalsung Academy Tareythang, while the respective Commandants presided over the event at other Gyalsung Academies.
