The following individuals are required to register:
(a) Individuals born in 2005, 2006 or 2007 who previously received a deferment from the 2026 batch,
(b) Individuals born in the year 2008 (1st January to 31st December),
(c) Students born after 2008 and who are currently in Class 12 or its equivalent in the 2026 academic year.
2. Allocation of Cohort and Academy: Cohort and the Academy allocation shall be done objectively through a computerized system based on the capacity of the academy and the gender ratio. No consideration shall be made for the proximity of the home and the location of the academy.
3. Training Duration: The training for the 2027 Batch shall also be conducted in two cohorts for a period of four months each.

4. Training Content: The training spread across four months shall include Basic Military Training, National Education, and Community Security Skilling (CSS). This additional month of training in CSS will equip Gyalsips with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to emergencies and natural disasters.
5. Training Venue: The training shall be conducted at the five Gyalsung Academies located at: Khotokha in Wangduephodrang; Jamtsholing in Samtse; Gyalpozhing in Mongar; Pemathang in Samdrup Jongkhar and Taraythang in Sarpang.
6. Communications: All enlistees shall be informed through an Enlistment Notice and issued with their Joining Instructions on 1st February 2027 for Cohort One and 1st August 2027 for Cohort Two.

Deferment: Those eligible for deferment shall be required to complete the registration process and apply for deferment through Gyalsung Portal with all the supporting documents after notification by the Gyalsung Headquarters.
Deferment may be granted for the following reasons:
(a) A person is in school and has not completed class 12 or its equivalent.
(b) A person is facing temporary medical conditions and is certified medically unfit by the Medical Board.
(c) A person facing urgent attention circumstances as approved by the Gyalsung Governing Council.
Exemption: Those eligible youth shall be required to complete the registration process and apply for exemption through Gyalsung Portal with all the supporting documents after notification by the Gyalsung Headquarters. Exemption may be granted to:
(a) Those who have been assessed as permanently unfit for Gyalsung Training by the Gyalsung Medical Board.
(b) Differently-abled individuals who are outside the education system and deemed unfit for training may also be exempted.
(c) Those enrolled in registered religious or monastic institutions, both within and outside Bhutan, may qualify for Exemption.
(d) In the case of pregnant women and 18-year-old mothers, the best interest of the mother and child will be given prior consideration.
(e) Those students who wish to pursue further studies and completed their class 12 in the academic year 2026 or before.
Medical Examination. Following successful registration, only eligible candidates shall be required to undergo the medical examination after notification by the Gyalsung Headquarters. Eligibility criteria for medical examination:
(a) Those registered youths who are currently in class 12 or its equivalent who wish to complete Gyalsung training before applying for colleges.
(b) Those registered youths who are currently studying in class 11 or below and who wish to attend Gyalsung Training.
(c) Those registered youths who are out of school.
(d) Those registered youths born in 2008 and resigned from religious or monastic bodies.
