The 09th Batch of First Responders Basic Search and Rescue (SAR) Training concluded on 12th March 2026 at the Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and National Search and Rescue Training Center (NSARTC), Tashigatshel, Chukha.
Over two weeks from 27 February – 12 March 2026, 13 Gyalsups along with 41 Royal Bhutan Police Traffic Personnel, 10 De-Suups and SRPF Reserve Personnel were trained in rope rescue, rappelling, communication, mechanical advantage hauling systems, and Basic Life Support (BLS), along with specialized modules such as Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Community Action for Disaster Response Emergency (CADRE), and the Incident Command System (ICS). The training also featured intensive practical sessions in river rescue operations, urban rescue equipment, and fire safety.
This is the first batch of Gyalsups trained as First Responders in SAR as part of the Gyalsung focus on building capacity for Disaster Response.
Training was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management and Royal Bhutan Police.
