The Basic Fire and Rescue Training commenced at the Royal Bhutan Police Fire Division in Thimphu on 04 March 2026, with the participation of 24 Gyalsups.
This one-month training programme is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in emergency response. The Gyalsups will undergo comprehensive instruction in basic structural firefighting, rescue operations, and forest fire fighting techniques. The training combines classroom sessions with hands-on practical drills to ensure that participants are well-prepared to respond effectively to fire-related incidents and other emergencies.
Upon completion of the course, the Gyalsups are expected to enhance national response capabilities and contribute meaningfully to disaster preparedness and public safety efforts.
